where purchased by Arthur Feldmann, Brno,
sale, Lucerne, Gilhofer & Ranschburg, 28 June 1934, lot 82 (unsold, returned to Arthur Feldmann),
looted by the Gestapo from the Feldmann villa in Brno, 15 March 1939;
private collection, Frankfurt-am-Main, from which acquired circa 1980 by the late mother of the present owner;
the drawing is sold pursuant to a settlement agreement between the present owner and the heirs of Arthur Feldmann, as a result of which the latter permanently renounce any claim to the drawing.
