The present work depicts the Presentation of the Virgin at the Temple of Jerusalem. The Virgin's parents, Saint Anne and Joachim, brought her to the temple to give thanks for her birth when she was three years old. She remained there, dedicated to the service of God, until she turned twelve years old.
