Two chawan [tea bowls]

Edo period, 18^th century

the first a red Raku chawan of irregular form on ring foot, decorated with a flocculent white glaze over a pinkish ground with a gnarled branch in slip; the second a Hagi chawan of ovoid form with everted neck and rounded rim on ring foot, decorated in a speckled greenish white glaze falling short of the foot
