A pair of Kakiemon style dishes and a Nabeshima style dish

Edo period, late 17th century


the shallow dishes with broad rim and indentations, decorated in underglaze blue with cherry blossom, chocolate rims, Chenghua six character mark to base; the Nabeshima dish with foliate rim and ring foot, decorated in underglaze blue, iron red and green enamels, with a hydrangea in full bloom, the border with a band of Buddhistic emblems, including sacred pearls


each 21 cm., 8¼ in. diam. (the pair of Kakiemon style dishes)

17 cm., 6½ in. diam. (the Nabeshima dish)
