Peter Janson-Smith initially negotiated Fleming's foreign translation rights and by 1960 would handle the James Bond short stories and serialisations, rising to chairman of Glidrose and managing Fleming's literary affairs for 45 years. He worked closely with Eon, and was involved in the sale of Harry Saltzman's share of Danjaq S.A. (the holding company of Eon Productions), to United Artists.
