In 1955, Patek Philippe collaborated with a surprising designer named Gilbert Albert. At the age of 25, Albert, a talented artist and jeweler based in Geneva, joined the Patek Philippe design team. Inspired by the works of Brancusi and Mondrian, he incorporated their avant-garde designs into his own. Among his designs for Patek, the most well-known, recognizable, and popular is the reference 3424, featuring an asymmetrical case. This design is an icon of 20th-century style, unconventional yet elegant.
