The Carrera was introduced in 1963 and offered quite a contrast to Jack Heuer’s first watch at the brand, the Autavia, and featured a smaller case (35.5mm case vs the 39mm for the Autavia,) and lack of rotating bezel giving it a less sporty but more elegant look.

The Carrera 2447SN and 2447NS, introduced circa 1968, introduced the contrasting dial register format to the Carrera range, with SN being a Panda (black over silver) and NS a reverse Panda (silver over black). In addition, these watches featured more legible hour markers that are broader, with a peak and a black stripe down the middle, matched by the luminous hands that now also feature a black strip down the middle. The rarest of these however is the 2447SND, a panda dial but with the addition of a decimal scale to the outer track, and similar to the first generation Carrera’s, the dial is rendered in two-tone, with a textured finish on the outer track and sunburst finish to the main dial.

The Carrera 2447SND is one of the rarest of the 2447 range, with less than 25 known to the market. The current watch, with SWISS only dial (meaning that it is not marked with the 'T' for tritium), is presented in excellent condition
