Over the last 60 year, Rolex has released a wide array of Daytona showcasing their craftsmanship. In the 1980's, they have released some ultra-exclusive reference showcasing gem-set dials and bezels. In the 1990's, they begun experimenting with stone and mother-of-pearl dials. It is only in the beginning of the 2000's with the introduction of their new calibre that the brand really embraced this know-how and introduced in the collection Daytonas featuring dials in materials extremely difficult to manufacture.
