Introduced in 1999, five years after A. Lange & Söhne's announcement of their first collections, the Datograph is named after the complications "date" and "chronograph". It is the exemplifier of German watchmaking and best known for their finishing, complexity and iconic design. Its calibre L951 features a flyback chronograph with a jumping minute counter, the beautiful column wheel mechanism meticulously displayed through the sapphire display back.

In fact, master watchmaker Philippe Dufour owns the pink gold version of the Datograph and describes it as the best chronograph movement ever made. Basketball player Michael Jordan also wears the first generation platinum Datograph with a matching bracelet. From the horology world to celebrities, the Datograph is widely enjoyed by different collectors and showcases the splendid capabilities of German watchmaking.
