The Day-Date represented a worldwide innovation, was the first watch to indicate the date in the 3 o’clock position, and the day of the week in the 12 o’clock position. In 1988 Rolex creates the caliber 3155, which features the double quickset functions and included in both the series 18200 and 18300 – many references of these series will be created in the following years. Later on in Baselworld 2000, Rolex presents the updated series 118000 with the references: 118205, 118206, 118238 and 118239 with minor visual updates. The present watch is a reference 118239 which comes with an attractive mother-of-pearl dial.
