In 2016, Bulgari introduced the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater, setting a new standard as the world's thinnest minute repeater. Encased in a slender 40 mm frame, it measures just 6.85 mm in thickness. Fast forward to Baselworld 2018, and Bulgari unveiled a limited edition variant - the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon Reference 102794, distinguished by its Carbon Thin Ply (CTP) casing. While it shares the stage with the original titanium reference 103015, this particular model stands out as the most exotic, thanks to its striking appearance and unique case material, creating a "military pattern effect."

The case material, known as Carbon Thin Ply (CTP), is essentially a thermosetting epoxy resin fortified with carbon fiber. It's not only incredibly lightweight but also exceptionally resilient, forming an acoustically efficient chamber for the repeater mechanism. To optimize the resonant qualities of the material, the gongs' base isn't affixed to the movement, as is customary; instead, it's directly attached to the case. Furthermore, to ensure ample audio output within such a slender case, the dial of the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater features perforated hour markers. These apertures facilitate the movement of air, and thus sound, between the dial and movement area.
