Description
Diamond bangle, Paola Brussino
The hinged cuff designed as a stylised wave of blackened gold, enhanced with brilliant-cut diamonds, inner circumference approximately 170mm, signed Paola Brussino, Italian maker's and assay mark for gold.
An architect and a designer, Paola Brussino has collaborated with famous brands of international jewelry and some of the most prestigious niche maisons. Her works have been exhibited in several European countries, in Qatar, Japan, Russia, and the United States.
After having lived for a long time in Geneva, she returned to Italy in 2012, and started a path of pure research.
Attracted by the creative possibilities offered by the use of new materials, she was among the first designers to bring carbon, titanium, zirconium and corian into high-end jewelry. Her entire work revolves around the aim of creating original material scenarios, and change the emotional perception of the rarest stones, thus allowing everyone to re-discover their pristine elegance; simple, natural, absolute. Real.
The strong conviction inspiring her research led Paola to the establishment of a fruitful cooperation with other artists and some world-recognized diamond masters.
In 2017, the collaboration with Scarselli Diamonds brought her to create LILAC TI 22, a ring with weavings of intertwined threads of titanium and a lilac diamond unique in the world for its purity and color. The work was exhibited for the first time in the Antipode exhibition at the Querini Stampalia Foundation, on the occasion of the 57th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
