Compare a piece of similar shape, but with a sky-blue glaze, preserved in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Junci yaji. Gugong Bowuyuan zhencang chutu Junyao ciqi huicui / Selection of Jun Ware. The Palace Museum’s Collection and Archaeological Excavation, Beijing, 2013, pl. 31.


Compare also a blue-glazed Jun bowl from the Sir Percival David Collection and now in the British Museum, London, illustrated in Stacey Pierson, Song Ceramics. Objects of Admiration, London, 2003, pl. 3, pp. 24-25; and a slightly larger example, sold at Christie’s New York, 22nd March 2018, lot 540. Compare also a green-glazed Jun bowl, but with a shorter wall, illustrated in Bo Gyllensvard, Chinese Ceramics in the Carl Kempe Collection, Stockholm, 1964, pl. 88, then sold in these rooms, 5th November 2008, lot 550.
