A bon [tray]
Edo period, 19th century
of rounded rectangular form on four feet, decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, kimpun and inlays of gold foil on a nashiji ground, with scattered open and closed fans, variously depicting the eight-plank bridge (yatsuhashi) among irises, leaves of wild ginger (aoi) beside a blind, stylised floral patterns, seigaiha and autumn grasses, fundame rims; accompanied with a fitted wood storage box
