Meiji period, late 19th century
with tall everted neck and applied fans in relief, decorated in iron red and gilt with scattered panels of roundels, fans and clamshells, depicting peonies, birds in flight and other flowers and foliage, all bordered by scrolling karakusa, the everted neck with further floral design
