With its tall cognac-style bottle, 16-year age statement, and standard label design, this bottle is among the first in the Hirsch series to adopt what would become its standard look. The one, glaring difference is that this one has a gold-wax closure, where many of the later bottlings, done at the Buffalo Trace distillery, had a gold foil closure. It’s these small, telling details that make a truly great collection stand out.
