Heuer is celebrated for having produced some of the most attractive chronographs related to motorsport. Beside them, they also created some chronograph timepieces designed for other purposes, such as the Kentucky. With its name referring to the American capital of horse riding and its famous derby, the model was introduced in 1977.
The design of the watch was inspired by the shape of a horseshoe and was meant to appeal to a different audience. For Jack Heuer, the Kentucky was one of the nicest models they ever designed.
The Kentucky also plays a pivotal role in the history of the brand, as it marks a technical transition and the beginning of the use of the Valjoux 7750 movement instead of the Calibre 12.
The Kentucky was also later made in a digital quartz version.
This example bears the reference 750.705G, which refers to the combination of a steel and gold case with a grey dial. It was the most luxurious version of the Kentucky.
