The Rolex GMT Master reference 16750 superseded the reference 1675 in 1981 and was produced until 1988. The main innovations were prompted by the new caliber 3075 featuring a quick-set date and hacking seconds.
The first series 16750, such as the present lot, continued to have the traditional painted indexes, as opposed to the second series with circled indexes. This layout provides further vintage appeal to this rare transitional reference.
