The Reference 6782 was produced between 1963 and 1970. It was a true UFO in the galaxy of Vacheron Constantin, regarded as the Manufacture of dressed watches. The watch was the first sport piece of the brand. It was nicknamed Turn O graph or Thunderbird as it shared some common points with the Rolex reference 1625.
The watch has a rotating bezel calibrated to 60 units. It allows the wearer to calculate the elapsed time. In order to do so in minutes, the red arrow on the bezel should be moved to be aligned with the minute hand. When the interval completes, the difference between the position of the minute hand and the red arrow will provide the elapsed time.
The sport character of the piece is also present in other elements of the design of the piece, such as the screw-down back, larger crown, shape of the lugs and even in the diameter and thickness of the case.
The Reference 6782 remains an elegant and luxurious piece, only crafted in gold, with the highest attention to details of each components. The very nicely finished automatic 1072 with central seconds and date indication is powered by a rotating mass in 18 carat.
