Like the Reference 6538, the Submariner 6536 stands among some of the most important and desirable Rolex models ever produced.

Likewise, the two references are so similar, that they are both often nicknamed the ‘James Bond’ although strictly speaking the 6536 never appeared in the film. Pre-dating the introduction of crown guards, the 6536 is characterised by its thinner profile and small crown.

This example has been preserved in attractive overall condition. Its dial has a rare 100/330 depth indication, omitting the meters and the feet. The indexes have an homogeneous patina, matching the gilt hands. The index at 6 o'clock is slightly lighter, as it should be. Its case is in good condition and has been nicely repolished to match the original style with pronounced bevels.

Combining rarity with vintage and sport character, this timepiece is an opportunity for the collector looking to acquire an early Rolex Submariner.
