The Rolex Day-Date reference 18038 saw light in 1977, propelling the legendary wristwatch into the next generation.

The newly introduced 5-digit reference was an early adopter of the sapphire crystal, conferring the watch with a modern feel and look. The calibre 3055, fifth iteration of the Day-Date movement, introduced the quick-set function for the date setting. These innovations, coupled with the modern looks, have surely contributed to elevating the reference 18038 to an all-time favourite in Rolex collections.

This example features the classic Champagne dial. Its previous owner requested a polished finish on the case and bracelet, providing an unusual twist to the piece.
