Rolex launched the Submariner 5513 in 1962, remaining in production until 1989, making it one of the longest-lasting references in the Submariner family.
Its design remained quite unchanged over 27 years. However, as it is the case with many Rolex references with its many iterations within reference, collectors can differentiate the early gloss dials from the subsequent matte dials and finally the gold-circled index dials.
The present lot, manufactured in 1967 has developed a strong character and is fitted with the celebrated 'meters first' dial.
