To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Aquanaut, Patek Philippe introduced the reference 5167 in 2007 as a major addition to the famous collection. Cased in stainless steel and measuring 40.8 mm, this reference introduced a new dial with a defined pattern. The 3 o'clock hour marker was removed to create more space for the date aperture, and the rubber strap was improved. Also at the same time, the 5165 came in a 38.8 mm case and replaced its predecessor, the reference 5065A.
Despite its success and admiration, reference 5165 was discontinued after being in the catalog for only five years. However, its slightly larger counterpart, the 5167, is still a part of the current collection, an evident example of how coveted this reference is.
