Introduced in 2007, the reference 5098 pays tribute to the famed watches created by Patek Philippe in the early part of the last century for Gondolo & Labouriau in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gondolo & Labouriau was the sole retailer of Patek Philippe in South America from around 1872. When the firms' formal partnership ended in 1927, about one-third of Patek Philippe's entire production was sold through this luxury Brazilian retailer.
The present lot continues in the tradition of wonderful partnerships with famed retailers as this piece is double signed and retailed by Tiffany & Co.
