Introduced in 2003 to commemorate the Submariner's 50th anniversary, the Rolex Submariner ref. 16610LV, affectionately nicknamed the "Kermit," stands out as one of the most coveted 5-digit Submariners in the market. Much like other Rolex models, the Kermit exhibits unique details that distinguish specific variants, such as the rare Mark 1 "Flat Four" version. This designation originates from the flat-four configuration found in the '40' on its bezel.
The Mark 1 "Flat Four" variant was only in production for a brief period, lasting just a year before Rolex made alterations that persisted until the model's discontinuation in 2010. Collectors highly prize this exceptionally rare Kermit variant. Lastly, the Kermit features a distinctive green anodized aluminum bezel, earning its moniker, and marking the first instance of Rolex incorporating a color other than black on a stainless-steel Submariner.
