The current lot is a beautiful white gold example of the world’s first Annual Calendar with moon phases. Based off of the reference 5035 Annual Calendar, the reference 5036/1 was released in 1999 as an upgrade to its predecessor by adding two additional complications: moon phases and power reserve indication. With the addition of these two functions, the watch now has a completely different aesthetic on the dial compared to that of the 5035. Another difference between the two Annual Calendars was that the 5036/1 was sold on a bracelet rather than a strap.
