In 1996 Chopard started to produce watch movements again giving birth to the the L.U.C collection, named after its founder Louis Ulysse Chopard. Part of this collection, the present watch was manufactured in 2013 and features a highly complicated tourbillon, beautifully displayed amongst hundreds of diamonds, perfectly crafted by the skilled watchmakers and jewelers at Chopard in Fleurier. The dial is set with 99 diamonds weighing 7.15 carats in total, while the case boasts an impressive 101 diamonds weighing 15.80 carats in total, gifting the entire piece a total diamond weight of 22.95 carats.
Large baguette diamonds may be spotted from all sides, except from the back, where the complicated and handcrafted movement may be admired. The sophisticated tourbillon carriage is revealed on the dial, while the rest is completely decked-out in diamonds, including the power reserve indication.
The present model is part of a limited edition of 25 pieces and the tourbillon is certified by both COSC and the Geneva seal, a rare characteristic that showcases the horological achievement of its manufacture.
