Produced between 1987 and 2000, reference 16520 marked a revolutionary moment in the history of the Daytona family. After 25 years of manual winding chronographs housed in a similar case design, Rolex introduced the new model powered by the Zenith El Primero-based automatic calibre 4030 and had a totally new, more modern and robust case design.
Zenith Daytonas underwent a few changes throughout their production including five dial versions, the last one being the introduction of the Luminova in 1998 and a new bracelet design.
The present lot has a Mark 4 dial which was the last one produced with tritium as luminescent material and it still retains its factory sticker on the caseback.
