In 1955, Corum was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds by René Bannwart and his uncle Gaston Ries, quickly establishing the brand at the forefront of Swiss watch making. In 1996 Jean-René Bannwart joined the family company creating innovative watches, such as the much acclaimed Admiral's Cup series which since then has become a staple model for the Swiss manufacturer.
The present lot is part of a limited 500-pieces edition created in 2005 in tribute to the world famous Admiral's Cup Race. With is dodecagonal case, this watch includes a number of complications devised to aid with sealing while sporting a resisting case in pink gold and carbon fibre, weighting approx. 250 grams.
