Cabernet Sauvignon 72%, Merlot 28%. This was the first vintage under the new Bouygues ownership and with the late, great Jean-Bernard Delmas on board. In 2023 and from magnum, the Montrose inky/iodine/maritime nose that is so 'of place' - between earth and sea. I love it. Then the silky tannins that belie their strength, a refinement that is 'extra'. Now soft and supple - and so, so gulpable. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

Celebrating the life and tastes of an oenophile, this beautiful collection comes to auction from a single, purpose-built, and temperature-controlled private cellar in the South of Europe. All the wines were directly purchased from one of the most prestigious, reputable and highly respected Wine Merchants in Bordeaux. The Classic tastes of the late owner are obvious, with an impressive depth of Cru Classé Bordeaux on offer from the 1990s to 2010s, with an extensive representation across First Growths to Fifth Growths, together with an outstanding array of some of the greatest Crus recently produced in Pessac-Léognan, Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Beyond Bordeaux, we glimpse more of the collector’s affinities, with a small selection of iconic Californian gems. Great vintages are a gift from Mother Nature and this collection has assembled some of the best wines produced in Bordeaux for the past 3 decades in tremendous quantities with a large variety of formats from half bottles to double magnums. This is a cellar to satisfy every wine lover from all over the world.
