Excellent level and appearance; Excellent niveau et apparence
Only 50% of production went into the 'grand vin'. Very aromatic nose. Big, irony wine of rich alcohol. The earthiness of La Mission with juicy acidity to match the ripeness. Cigary and really mouth-coating. Gummy, liquorice, mineral taste of great volume. In 2013, a concentrated, 'tight' bouquet leads to a great, plummy, inky taste. A giant still slumbering. This collection spans the 1980s to 2010 and is in truly excellent condition, testament to the quality of the meticulously maintained underground climate-controlled storage. All bought from Sotheby's Wine Department in London, it includes such gems as Lafite 1998 in Imperial, a case of Haut Brion 2000 in bottle and a multi-format Superlot of Pichon Baron 2010.
