Cabernet Franc 50%, Merlot 50%. 85% new oak. The Vauthiers are on the side of cold pre-fermentation maceration rather than extraction and this is the way I like it. In 2016, a fabulous red fruit nose, all smoke and class. So juicy, even a touch 'orangey' in the mouth, with such finesse of texture. Really lovely fruit, picked at the right time - the Merlot on 29 September and 2 October, the Cabernet Franc on 8 and 10 October. Sumptuous and opulent, while giving the impression of dancing on the palate. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

The superlative 2015 Bordeaux vintage is easily the best since 2010. Thanks to a dry and hot early summer, tempered by a humid and cooler September, the grapes were harvested at perfect ripeness to allow long ageing potential. Even though the vintage is only 8 years old, the quality shines through with ample fruit, structure and balance with some wines being already very enjoyable to drink. This vintage is a must-have in any wine cellar and this collection has something for everyone!
