Description

Einstein, Albert

Typed letter signed ("A. Einstein") to Cyril Clemens, a distant cousin of Mark Twain

1 page (280 x 215 mm). Dated 21 October 1942. Matted, laminated, and framed with black and white photographic portrait of Einstein; not examined out of frame.

Cyril Clemens, a distant cousin of Mark Twain, was founder and president of the Mark Twain Society, and corresponded numerous times with Einstein throughout the 1930s and ‘40s. Here, Einstein seems to dodge Clemens' inquiry about attending a party, citing his ill health.
