Description

Château Calon Ségur 2005

St. Estèphe, 3ème Cru Classé

Good level, excellent appearance

In 2018, and drunk with delicious wild duck, this was an absolute stunner, with its tremendous Cabernet health, vivacity, breed and attack. The impact as it came out of the glass to greet you impressed the whole table, an assembly of guests not unused to top Claret. The definition and character of the cru have been magnified to maximum effect. Something in which to revel. Again in 2018, that great ocean and black fruit nose, with luscious blueberry flavours plus damson beauty - sleek and superb. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
