NIKE, NIKE SB DUNK LOW PRO, SIZE 9
Rubber, Leather, Cotton
2006
In 2006, Nike and MEDICOM TOY released the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Medicom 4’, exclusively via Medicom’s Website. A simple approach, the pair featured a predominantly white snakeskin patterned upper and grey accents.
This single shoe is a sample of the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Medicom 4’. In contrast to the retail version, this sample employs a distinctive white and light grey color scheme on the snakeskin patterned upper. Much like its released counterpart, this single shoe boasts a luxurious leather insole and sockliner. Notably, the unbranded Nike SB insole and the sample-tagged sockliner add an extra layer of exclusivity.
The Nike SB Dunk made its formal debut in 2002 when Nike officially reworked the famed Dunk basketball sneaker originally designed in the 1980s with upgrades suited for the skateboarding community. The man behind it, former Nike executive Sandy Bodecker, is credited with building one of Nike’s most beloved subdivisions in the early 2000s with the Nike SB line.
What sets Nike SB apart from other competitive brands is the unbridled creativity, collaborators, materials, and whimsical highly thematic designs that define a generation of sneakerheads. Nike has explored hundreds of concepts – often with a sense of humor – through its Nike Dunks. From designs that range from beer bottles to guitar cases, to horror films, jewelry, animals, arts and cities – the Dunks represent some of the most beloved and creative models for the brand.
