Description

NIKE, NIKE SB ZOOM AIR DUNK LOW, SIZE 9

Rubber, Cotton, Synthetic

2004

Born in 1976 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Reese Forbes started skateboarding in Washington, D.C. at Freedom Plaza. In 1995, he turned pro with Element Skateboards.

In 2002, Forbes teamed up with the newly formed Nike SB. Forbes is referred to as ‘Part of the Original Nike SB Team Nucleus’.

Since then, Forbes has played a pivotal role in designing some of Nike SB's most influential and experimental releases. His creations showcase a diverse use of materials, ranging from Pig Suede to Denim and Burlap, often presented in earth-toned colorways.

In 2004, according to Nike, Forbes was tasked with adding color and personality to the Nike Dunk silhouette. Finding inspiration in the untamed wilderness Forbes's third Dunk Low, the ‘Hunter’ featured burlap material for the upper, adorned with camouflage patterns, and complemented by vibrant safety orange accents and carefully irregular stitching.

This Nike Dunk Low sample features a reverse pattern of the iconic Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Reese Forbes Hunter. Dressed in a predominantly camouflage upper, the pair features burlap overlays and orange accents on the interior quilted lining, midsole, and Swoosh. An incredible look into the design process of Forbes and Nike at the time, the interior sample tag denotes the pair as the Hunter V2 Dunk Low. It is also dated 2004.
