Nike Air Force 1 SPRM I/O ‘07 ‘1 Night Only’ Sample | Size 10

The Air Force 1, arguably Nike’s most iconic sneaker, is in many regards, the first of its kind. Previously realized in running shoes, the introduction of Nike’s ‘Air’ technology in the midsole was a revolutionary concept for basketball sneakers. Tasked with bringing the concept to life, designer Bruce Kilgore and an aerospace engineer brought the project to fruition with a hiking boot-inspired, ankle-strapped, high top. Kilgore’s first basketball sneaker, the Air Force 1 was brought to market in 1982.

In honor of Air Force 1’s 25th anniversary, MTV hosted 1 Night Only, a special New York City event celebrating the iconic silhouette. The event consisted of performances from hip-hop legends KRS-ONE, Rakim, and NAS. Produced exclusively for the event performers, these Air Force 1 Night Only samples commemorate the unforgettable celebration.

This sample pair features a blue, faux snakeskin and black leather upper. The pair sits atop a black midsole and blue outsole. “1 Night Only” branding is featured on the tongue tag. Samples are sneakers made by the manufacturer either for promotional purposes or for testing various aspects of a design. They are far rarer than the general release pairs.
