length of teapot 10 3/4 in.; diameter of cover 9 3/4 in.

27.3 cm; 24.8 cm

The teapot was possibly made for the Skull and Bones Society at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, that was founded in 1832.  Storr and Mortimer did enough business with the United States that they opened a shop in New York in 1839, but closed it in 1841 when punishing tariffs were enacted on imported plate.

The arms on the dish cover are those of Hamilton, baron of Belhaven and Stenton.
