A Large Berlin (K.P.M.) Two-Handled Vase and Stand, 19th Century


of baluster form, the trumpet form neck with a brown horizontal collar reserving gilt-rosettes, painted with stylized acanthus leaf and flowers, the should affixed with two large burnished gilt-scroll eagle-form handles foliate scroll terminals, the front painted with a large medallion, in a burnished-gilt laurel wreath frame, reserved on a cream-ground enriched with spreading leafy-vine, the circular foot with a lilac-ground painted with further flowers, upon a gilt and lilac-ground octagonal plinth base with stepped foot, sceptre mark in underglaze-blue, undersize of footrim impressed letter F, numeral 0 or letter O
