A talented cabinetmaker, he married Martin Carlin's widow in 1783 and took over the workshop. He continued to make and finish furniture bearing Carlin's signature and Schneider's stamp, such as the superb bureau from the Patiño collection sold by Sotheby's in New York on 20 May 1992, lot 70. This piece of furniture, comprising a secrétaire and a commode, illustrates the quality and purity of Schneider's cabinet-making.

Talentueux ébéniste, il épouse la veuve de Martin Carlin en 1783 et reprend l’atelier. Il va ainsi continuer poursuivre et terminer des meubles qui portent la griffe de Carlin et l’estampille de Schneider comme le superbe bureau provenant de la collection Patiño vendu par Sotheby’s à New York, le 20 mai 1992, lot 70. Ce meuble composé d’un secrétaire et d’une commode illustre la qualité et la pureté de l’ébénisterie rencontrée chez Schneider.
