TOM FORD Sequin and Stretch Tulle Evening Dress, 2016
TOM FORD’s Multicolor Sequin Anatomical Embroidery Evening Dress was presented at his Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show on Look 31. Inspired by the party spirit between 1979–81, this dress represents a playful interpretation of the ultimate “Blondie” wardrobe. The dress features a graphic and colorful sequin patchwork design on a stretch tulle base, complemented by a deep tulle scoop neck and tulle arms with sequin artwork repeated at arm cuffs. Unlike traditional sequin embroidery, the palettes are horizontally embroidered, creating a unique play of light and shadow on the garment's curves. This gown was showcased in a 3-minute video featuring Lady Gaga and later chosen as one of the main featured looks in the collection's ad campaign. It was later selected for re-issue in the FW23 Archive Collection.
