Circa 1790


• Movement: gilded, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge with polished steel end-piece, silver regulation plate, fusee and chain, cylindrical pillars, two polished steel hammers repeating on a bell mounted to the inside case back, winding square to backplate, signed JLe Roy, à Paris

• Dial: white enamel dial, Turkish numerals, outer Turkish numeral minute ring, gold hands with seed pearl-set crescent moon motifs, signed JLe Roy, à Paris 

• Case: gold, the back polychrome enamel painted with a sea battle bordered by seed pearls, scalloped border with floral motifs in translucent enamel, the front bezel decorated en suite, case side decorated with striated black enamel bands, plunge pendant repeat, slide to inner bezel beneath 6 o'clock to select dumb or bell repeat
