Description

Height 7¼ in., 18.4 cm

Collection of William Tait (by repute).

Peaceful Wind, Santa Fe, 6th January 1994.

The Newari inscription on the baseplate reads, "On the 15th of the bright half of Kartika, in the year 925 [AD 1805, winter], Tejakara of Araturtha house in Lagan [Kathmandu or perhaps Patan] had this image of Sri 3 Ushnishavijaya made while he was residing in Shigatse [in southern Tibet] where he was doing business. May it be auspicious."
