A nayika restrains her cat from attacking her pet parrot, India, Rajasthan, Bundi or Uniara, circa 1760

There is a painting from Bundi dated to 1770 in the British Museum, London which depicts another version of this subject. A noblewoman in a courtyard holds up a whip while her attendant grabs the leg of the cat which has managed to seize the pet parrot by one of its wings (Ahluwalia 2008, pp.71-72, fig.37).
