with shells at the angles, matched on the shoulders, corded borders, detachable nozzles, each with cast maker's marks underneath probably for Thomas Dane

These are probably cast from the original set of four by Thomas Dane, Boston, circa 1750, for Benjamin Hallowell, formerly with Firestone & Parsons, Boston, and now at Historic Deerfield.
