The Dancing Columbine model at Bow was based on a Meissen figure circa 1745, and is also found in Chelsea porcelain by circa 1752, an example of which is illustrated in Yvonne Hackenbroch, Catalogue of the Untermyer Collection, London 1957, pl. 25, cat. no. 12. A similar figure was exhibited at the English Ceramic Circle Exhibition, 1948, illustrated in the Catalogue, pl. 42, no. 177, along with companion male model (no. 176). The pair later sold at Christie's London, November 25, 1991, lot 109.
