Since commencing a full-time painting career in 2002, Australian artist, John McCartin, has been catapulted from relative obscurity to international acclaim. Since entering his first international art competition in 2011, he has received close to 100 international art awards and has had his skill acknowledged by many of the world’s leading artists and galleries.

McCartin works effectively with most mediums and genres to capture a diverse range of subjects. With no formal art training, he continues to develop his craft through practice and observation. Studying the works of master artists has given McCartin a vast menu of techniques and styles at his disposal, enabling him to approach his chosen subject in the way that best communicates the emotions he wishes to capture. Light is always a notable feature of McCartin’s work, with tonal precision and color harmony woven into each and every piece he produces, regardless of style or technique. His works can be found in private and corporate collections worldwide and he is represented in galleries in Australia, Europe and the USA.
