CONCEPT OF ARTWORK

I believe in connections and relationships between humans and nature. I always think about this idea in a romanticised way. The butterflies here represent the souls. They are seen among flowers and stars - all inside the shadow of a tiger. I want this tiger to represent all the living creatures on earth - that's why I choose to paint this tiger as a shadow. It's the symbol of nature and everything it is connected to. To me, this relationship feels like a lullaby from the universe, the lullaby that connects every being. It also welcomes us to the never ending cycle of the universe.

ABOUT PHANNAPAST TAYCHAMAYTHAKOOL (THAILAND)

Phannapast Taychamaythakool (Yoon) is a Thai artist/illustrator who tells her personal stories through her drawings of animal characters and flowers. Phannapast graduated from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok with a Fashion Design degree. After graduating, she worked with Thai fashion brands while continuing her love for drawing and handicrafts. Her works were discovered by Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci. Phannapast then started to collaborate with Gucci for many projects including Gucci Tian, The Fairytale Book for Le Marché des Merveilles collection, Bloom Acqua di Fiori, and Gucci Art Wall in Soho, New York.
