Dave White

CONCEPT OF ARTWORK

I have featured Tigers in my work for the last ten years, highlighting their plight as an endangered species, through my portraits in oils and watercolours. I wanted to connect this journey with my sculpture, reflecting the same materials that I use such as the 24 Carat Gold Leaf. My aim was to create movement and a realistic quality to the work, whilst highlighting the scarcity and precious existence of these magnificent creatures.

ABOUT DAVE WHITE (UK)

Dave White is a contemporary British artist who dedicates his work to celebrating popular culture and interpreting emotive issues. White graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art (Painting) at Liverpool John Moores University and has enjoyed success from the inception of his career, with selection for the Northern Graduates exhibition at the Royal College of Art in 1994, whilst also debuting at Sotheby’s London and international art fairs. White pioneered the 'Sneaker Art' movement in 2002, with the execution of pop art-inspired sneaker oil portraits, leading to long term collaborations with Nike and Brand Jordan which continue to this day.

雕塑構思：

過去10年間，我曾以老虎為主題創作了一些油彩和水彩作品，藉此突顯這個瀕危物種的困境。我想以這個雕塑連繫這個創作歷程，所以我亦在本作中使用曾在舊作中出現的24K金箔。我希望能令本作充滿動感及真實感，並彰顯出這些雄偉動物的稀有和珍貴程度。

戴夫．懷特（英國）

當代英國藝術家戴夫．懷特的作品歌頌流行文化，並探討不少牽動人心的議題。懷特擁有利物浦約翰摩爾斯大學的藝術學士學位，1994年他的作品獲選入一場由皇家藝術學院舉辦的校外畢業生作品展覽，作品亦先後在倫敦蘇富比及各大國際藝術展登場，其創作事業可謂一帆風順。

懷特是2002年「運動鞋藝術」（Sneaker Art）風潮的先鋒人物，他繪畫了一系列具普普藝術風格的球鞋油畫，自此開展了與Nike和Brand Jordan的長期合作，至今仍陸續推出不同聯乘款式。只有極少數的藝術家曾與Jordan聯名設計球鞋，懷特正是其中之一。2016年，懷特與Size ?及Nike聯乘，展開了經典鞋款 Air Max 95的國際聯名運動鞋企劃。有見及此，紐約富藝斯於2018年舉辦的「Tongue + Chic」運動鞋展中亦展出懷特的這款Air Max 95 DM，同場亦展出KAWS、赫斯特及村上隆等合共20位藝術家設計的運動鞋，這個展覽較早前亦巡迴到香港富藝斯及上海（K11藝術空間）展出。
