Label scuffed and slightly stained, fully covered in tape, very minor sign of old seepage, rebouchage fait par le Maitre de Chai du Chateau en 1986

In 2016 from double magnum, it was beside the 1959 in the same format, a rare occurrence. The 1959 was richer, thicker and more mouthfilling, but the 1961 revels in scent, sweetness and elegance, with a spiciness that is intriguing and a gentleness now that lingers long on the palate.
